Renate Beaumont created Vanilla in 2000. Starting off as a small boutique in North Oxford, Vanilla has undergone a lot of change over the last seven years and recently has expanded to cater for her lifelong infatuation with interior design. Today the boutique houses a rich and varied selection of original and unique furnishings, objects, art and curiosities sourced from around the world.

Renate was born in Austria. Upon leaving school she studied graphic design for four years and immediately after, moved to Vienna to work for a leading magazine. Renate believes that Fashion is art and this is reflected in her eclectic collections and her ability to continuously seek out new talents.

Renate's passion for beautiful things seeps into every aspect of her daily practice. Working on her Oxford townhouse is an ongoing hobby. A rich palatial feast of clean modern landscaping, Italian furniture and found antiquities reflect her fiercely diverse buying style and creative eye.
